    Maleth Crucis is a death metal band from Malta, formed in June 2020 by Carlo Calamatta (song writer & guitarist) and Michael Grech Sammut (vocals). The band soon enrolled Joseph Camilleri (Bass) after the name Maleth Crucis was baptised.
    The name Maleth Crucis comes from both Phoenician and Latin language. Maleth is the name given to our country, Malta, during the Carthaginians rule around the year 480 B.C. The name Crucis is the Latin word for Cross which is directly linked to the knights of Saint John.
    A song named ‘Witness of Eternity’, written by Michael and Carlo in 1992 (both founders of the local death metal band Lithomancy), recently got the rights and ownership of this song transferred from Lithomancy to Maleth Crucis. The song was reconstructed and rearranged, however retaining the most important riffs that sums up the character of the song ‘Witness of Eternity’. Those fans having this particular song at heart will recognise the tune for sure.
    Currently, the band is working to release a lyric video of ‘Witness of Eternity’ in the coming days. Furthermore, works are undergoing at the composition stages of a new EP from Maleth Crucis. The band will take you into a journey of different stages of the Maltese history throughout the Punic period, Byzantine rule, Arab period, Norman Kingdom of Sicily rule, the Knights of St. John, the French and British occupation and enticing legends related to Malta.

    Maleth Crucis will release their first lyric video ‘Witness of Eternity’ this summer 2020.
